Credentials and Training

Dr. Sampat’s journey in medicine began at Northwestern University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He then pursued his medical degree from Finch University/The Chicago Medical School, graduating in 2003. His residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago saw him rise to the position of Chief Resident. To further hone his skills, Dr. Sampat completed a fellowship in Neurosurgical and Orthopedic Spinal Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

 

Dr. Sampat joined the Parkview Orthopedic Group in 2009, and quickly became a leading figure in minimally invasive spine surgery. He made history on July 26, 2018, by performing the first robotic spine surgery using the Globus Excelsius GPS system at Silver Cross Hospital. This cutting-edge technology facilitates more accurate spinal fusion procedures and ensures faster recovery times for patients.

 

Dr. Sampat joined Illinois Bone & Joint Institute and Hinsdale Orthopaedics in 2024, where he continues to provide expert, compassionate care. In fact, Dr. Sampat was chosen as one of America’s Best Spine Surgeons 2024 by Newsweek.
